The Company
Sensilist AS is a company founded on September 2020 by Kjeller Innovasjon, where Aquatiq AS became an owner in the spring of 2021.
Kjeller Innovasjon is an innovation company and technology transfer organization (TTO) funded by, among others, the Norwegian Research Council and SIVA, and has led the commercial work with Sensilist through a commercialization project funded by the Research Council of Norway's FORNY program.
Aquatiq® is a supplier of expertise, process equipment and hygiene solutions to the global food industry. We do "What it Takes" to ensure the production and distribution of Safe Food for companies all over the world.
Aquatiq is a market-leading supplier of solutions within the food industry, which was started in 1988. The group's core business is expertise and products in hygiene, process equipment, professional cleaning and consulting. We cover the entire food chain to ensure safe food production.
Development
Sensilist was developed by PhD Taran Skjerdal and colleagues at the Veterinary Institute. Skjerdal is a major figure in food safety in an international context and has high expertise in Listeria in food. She is a member of the Norwegian Scientific Committee for Food and the Environment, head of the expert group for hygiene and infectious agents and a member of the European Reference Function for Listeria (EURL, the authorities' highest advisory expert committee) together with experts from other countries within the EU/EEA.
The method is produced, developed and tested in collaboration with various actors within food production, hygiene and food safety, who participated as partners in the commercialization project, including MOWI, Sinkaberg Hansen, Nordlaks, Nortura, Orkla and Aquatiq, as well as environments with design expertise.

Sensilist AS, in partnership with Aquatiq AS, is a comprehensive provider of solutions and expertise that support safe food production worldwide. With our innovative and unique Sensilist method, we can detect very small amounts of Listeria monocytogenes in food products and production environments. We are a solid and highly skilled player within Food Safety, and our work directly contributes to “Less Food Waste and Safer Food” across the entire value chain.
