Podcast: SensiList: New technology for safe food and less food waste
Listeria is a major problem for the food industry. In addition, there are very specific guidelines for Listeria in food in relation to the limit values. Senior scientist at the Norwegian Veterinary Institute and expert on Listeria, Taran Skjerdal saw a problem that needed to be solved.
Through the research and innovation project "SensiList", she has developed a technology that makes it possible to detect very small amounts of Listeria, ensuring both food safety and reducing waste.
Through broad collaboration with colleagues at the Veterinary Institute, industry and Kjeller Innovasjon, Skjerdal has developed an innovative solution that assists food producers in their assessment of safe levels, and is 200 times more sensitive than current methods.
